August 2003 - Drumaroad Group awarded £5,000
Drumaroad Community Regeneration has just been awarded a grant of £5,000 under the Henry Smith Charity’s latest round of grant funding to charity based community groups across the UK.

The Henry Smith Charity, based in London, promotes and assists charitable organisations across the United Kingdom, whose primary objectives are: - to advance education, and to address individual and social needs by providing facilities for recreation or other leisure occupation, with the common object of improving the conditions of life for those who are disadvantaged, without the distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion.

July 2003 - New Web Site for Drumaroad, www.drumaroad.com
Drumaroad Community Regeneration (DCR) has announced the launch of a new web site. This development represents another landmark in the continuing success of this relatively young Community Group.

Chairperson of DCR, Liam Quinn, has spoken warmly of the latest innovation:
“I would like to pay tribute to MBM Web for having produced a first-class site. It is colourful, imaginative and informative. It will be an excellent vehicle for presenting the news and latest developments concerning DCR, but more importantly, it will provide the community with an opportunity to relay their views and ideas to us. I look forward to the ongoing development of this magnificent site.”

July 2003 - Drumaroad Group awarded £5000
Drumaroad Community Regeneration has just been awarded £5,000 under the latest round of funding by the Community Fund - ‘Awards for All’ Scheme.

The grant of £5,000 awarded to the Drumaroad Group will go towards design costs, editing and printing costs associated with publishing another two editions of the recently launched ‘Drumaroad Community News’.

June 2003 - Drumaroad Group graduate at IFI Ceremony
<= Drumaroad Community Regeneration marked the end of their participation on the International Fund for Ireland (IFI) Community Leadership Programme recently by receiving their certificate of completion at a graduation ceremony held in the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

Over the last twelve months Drumaroad Community Regeneration carried out a number of projects, which included a detailed fact-finding mission visiting newly built community centres of excellence north and south of the border, the launch of a new corporate image and name change for the Group, a detailed community audit, and most recently the launch of a 16 page full colour community newsletter.

18th June 2003 - Drumaroad Community Regeneration Group launch new Community Newsletter

<= Wednesday 18th June 2003 marked yet another milestone in Drumaroad Community Regeneration’s calendar of achievements for this year, with the launch of their new community newsletter.

The 16-page full colour newsletter was co-funded by the International Fund for Ireland (IFI) Community Leadership Programme, and now has been widely distributed throughout the Drumaroad community.

February 2003 - Lloyds TSB Foundation Funding Award
Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland has awarded Drumaroad Community Hall Steering Group under its latest round of quarterly funding, a grant for three thousand pounds. The grant will help the local Community Hall Group, near Castlewellan, Co. Down, towards the ongoing cost of employing Consultants to complete a detailed Community Audit, and Business Plan preparation, for the proposed re-development of Drumaroad Hall into a multi-purpose community and sports facility.

29th January 2003 - Drumaroad group on fact finding mission
Eight Members of Drumaroad Community Hall Steering Group spent the weekend on an intensive fact finding mission visiting community centre models of excellence north and South of the Border. The visit was funded by the International Fund for Ireland (IFI) Community Leadership Programme, which is administered by Locus Management Consultants. In total 5 community centres were visited during the action packed weekend of learning and exchange.

15th January 2003 - New Logo sought for Drumaroad Group
Drumaroad Community Hall Steering Group has launched a competition to find a design for a new logo for the Group and are asking children and young people throughout Down District area to put forward innovative designs. The winning entry will be used on letterheads, promotional leaflets and a new Community Newsletter to be produced by the Group and will also provide an important identity for the redevelopment of Drumaroad Parish Hall.
